What’s your teaching experience?

I have 10 years of teaching experience in Mathematics in an international school and I have taught in Singapore and Jakarta. I am a Cambridge Certified Teacher and the Head of Department of Mathematics and ICT in my school. In 2015, I was awarded the honor of being an Apple Distinguished Educator.

I have also taught Mathematics from Primary 2 to Junior College 2!

How do you teach that helps students learn efficiently?

I love to provide my students with clear step-by-step detailed explanation of Mathematical concepts. Furthermore, I will make difficult Mathematical concepts easy to understand by using various instructional strategies that I have specially designed. My focus in class is to build confidence, provide guided and collaborative practices, and strengthen rapport with students through role-modelling and sharing of my passion for teaching and learning!

Lastly, I will ensure that there are constant formative assessments provided for each student to check on their understanding and evaluate their mastery, one skill at a time.

Why do you enjoy teaching?

I love teaching Mathematics because every day, I am able to get a chance to make a difference in a student’s life. Beyond imparting useful knowledge, I am thankful to receive precious opportunities to inspire, support, mentor and help the future generations of humanity become the very best version of themselves.

What’s one fun fact about you?

I have 4 children of my own with my wife and I love to perform magic tricks!
