Afghanistan Primary School Syllabus - Painting

Grade 2

Painting is part of the core curriculum for Primary 2 students in Afghanistan. The curriculum focuses on developing artistic skills through regular painting methods and exploration of more dynamic colors. The goal is to help children express their thoughts and feelings, cultivating creativity.

General Primary School Curriculum

Primary education in Afghanistan is divided into two cycles: Lower Primary (Grades 1-3) and Higher Primary (Grades 4-6). Lower Primary focuses on religious studies, the first language (Dari or Pashto), math, art, and physical education. Higher Primary includes the same subjects as Lower Primary, with the addition of science, history, geography, and a secondary language. The Ministry of Education has made efforts to modernize the national primary curriculum. In 2024, the Ministry of Education revised the primary school curriculum to align with Sharia law and Afghan culture, removing topics deemed inappropriate.
