Albania Grade 10 Curriculum - Albanian Language and Literature (Optional for Non-Albanian Students)

Overview

Albanian Language and Literature is an optional course offered to Grade 10 students at Albanian College Tirana, an International Baccalaureate World School. While most other subjects are taught in English, Albanian Language and Literature classes are conducted in Albanian. This course is part of the IB Diploma Programme, which students can pursue upon meeting specific admission requirements, including English proficiency at a B2 level or higher.

Studies in Language and Literature

This course aims to develop a personal appreciation of language and literature, equipping students with skills in literary criticism through the analysis of texts from various periods, styles, and genres. It focuses on understanding the formal, stylistic, and aesthetic qualities of texts, strengthening both written and oral expression, and fostering an appreciation for cultural differences in perspective. The course also explores how language shapes and challenges ways of thinking.
