Language Arts

• Textbooks:

• Companion workbooks are also available.
• At some schools, the Armenian Language Arts curriculum is developed by the Prelacy Board of Regents.

Literature

• Folktales: Armenian folktales are a common element of the 5th-grade curriculum. Examples include "The Magic Ring" and "The Old Woman and the Cat." Collections of Armenian folktales and fables are available.
• Poetry: Armenian poetry is also studied. Poets studied may include Hovhannes Tumanyan, Ghazaros Aghayan, Atabek Khnkoyan, and Silva Kaputikyan.

General Information

• Armenian Language and Literature is a mandatory subject in Armenian schools, along with physical education and mathematics.
