UAE Grade 11-12 Curriculum - Creative Design and Innovation
The Creative Design and Innovation (CDI) curriculum in the UAE is part of the broader Computing curriculum, focusing on fostering creativity, problem-solving, and digital literacy. It is offered as an elective for students in Grades 11 and 12. The curriculum was developed in 2019 to advance computing education and integrate design thinking. It emphasizes the connection between technology, art, and innovation. One resource for learning materials is Alefredo Books. The Ministry of Education introduced the elective model, including CDI, in May 2023.
Specific learning outcomes include:
- Entrepreneurship: Students study successful entrepreneurs and analyze their creativity, determination, problem-solving skills, passion, risk-taking, and resilience.
- AI Integration: The curriculum incorporates AI and machine learning concepts, with students working on improving algorithms and evaluating the impact of AI systems. A UNESCO report details the integration of AI into the K-12 curriculum.
Assessment for CDI is integrated into the overall assessment policy for the UAE curriculum. Example assessments and questions for Grade 12 are available. |
