UAE English Language Curriculum
The UAE's English language curriculum aims to equip students with strong English communication skills to prepare them for academic success and future careers. The Ministry of Education (MoE) has developed a National English Language Curriculum Framework, which outlines learning outcomes across a 10-level scale aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This framework emphasizes a skills-based approach, focusing on listening, speaking, reading, and writing. In government schools, Arabic is the primary language of instruction, with English taught as a second language. English is also used for teaching technical and scientific subjects. Private schools in the UAE offer various curricula, including the International Baccalaureate (IB), British, American, and others. |
