UAE Grade 3 English Curriculum

This curriculum focuses on developing core language skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening, and grammar.

Reading:

• Focuses on reading comprehension, understanding known language elements recombined in new ways, and appreciating reading as an enjoyable activity.
• Includes various text types such as fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and letters.

Writing:

• Covers narrative writing (descriptive and adventure), non-chronological reports, poetry, procedures, letter writing, plays, persuasive writing, and recounts.
• Emphasizes developing fluency in writing to communicate ideas and emotions effectively.

Speaking and Listening:

• Develops understanding of the various purposes of spoken language (instructing, informing, entertaining, reassuring).
• Encourages using discussion and conversation to explore new ideas.

Grammar:

• Includes parts of a sentence (verbs, nouns, adjectives), pronouns, prepositions (place and time), apostrophes for possession, conjunctions, adverbs, present perfect tense, articles (a/an), and homophones.
