UAE Grade 5 Curriculum (MOE) - Arabic

The UAE Ministry of Education (MOE) mandates Arabic language instruction for all students, including those in private schools following international curricula. There are two versions of the Arabic curriculum:

1. Arabic as a First Language: This curriculum is for students registered with an Arab passport. In Grade 5, students have five lessons per week. The curriculum aims to develop strong Arabic language skills, covering reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

2. Arabic as an Additional Language (Arabic B): This curriculum is for non-Arab students. Grade 5 students also have four lessons per week. This curriculum focuses on building a basic understanding of Arabic, also encompassing reading, writing, speaking, and listening. It is designed to be age-appropriate and engaging. Some schools may use supplementary resources like the "Arabic Learning – Grade 5 – Student Book."

The MOE has taken steps to improve Arabic language competencies, launching initiatives specifically targeting Grades 4 and 5. The ministry also emphasizes UAE values and culture within the curriculum. While the specific details of the Grade 5 curriculum are not readily available online, the MOE provides electronic copies of textbooks and other learning materials through its e-book reader platform.
