South Korea Middle School Grade 7 Curriculum - Moral Education

Moral Education is a required subject in South Korea Middle School Grade 7. It is part of the Social Studies/Moral Education subject cluster. Students are required to take moral education classes for a total of 510 hours over the three years of middle school. The curriculum aims to cultivate desirable aspects of the Korean value system, such as self-control, sincerity, freedom, and acceptance of responsibility. The textbooks are developed and provided by the Ministry of Education. The curriculum emphasizes a centralized approach, with all aspects specified in detail, including aims, objectives, teaching methods, content, evaluation, and teacher training. Moral education is also integrated into other subjects and activities.
