What’s your name?
My name is Nancy Sebastian
What’s your teaching experience (duration, where you have taught at, levels)
I started teaching in Singapore since 2019 January at SUSS with courses like introduction to social sciences and research methodologies for Social Sciences. Thereafter, I joined University of Newcastle (UON) & PSB and taught several business-economics courses to undergraduates as well as graduates.
How do you teach that helps students learn efficiently?
I have been known as patient, friendly, approachable and sincere. I make the classes inclusive, so that all types of learners are involved and engaged. I give them real-world examples and application to real-life scenarios.
Why do you enjoy teaching?
It’s been my passion since very early days of my life as I was growing up. I don’t find as much satisfaction in any other work sector. You not only educate students for grades but also prepare them to be future leaders and thinkers.
What’s one fun fact about you?
I love music and sports and of course teaching my 4-year-old kid apart from my other students.
