CXC CAPE Performing Arts
The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) offers a Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) in Performing Arts. The syllabus covers Business for the Arts, Cinematic Arts, Dance, Drama, and Music, focusing on Product Development and Management. A CXC CAPE Performing Arts workshop was held, covering these five themes. All participants attended the Business for the Arts session. The syllabus and specimen papers for the CAPE Performing Arts exam are available. Completing this syllabus prepares individuals for careers such as Art Producers, Dance Writers/Journalists, Actors, and Arts Administrators.
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC) Performing Arts
The SVGCC offers CAPE subjects, including Performing Arts, as part of its two-year Form VI program. To enter the CAPE program, applicants need a minimum of five CSEC (CXC) subjects.
The SVGCC Performing Arts Society (PAS) is an extracurricular club promoting the arts at SVGCC. They are involved in various performing arts disciplines, including Drama, Dance, Choir, Modelling, Poetry, Backstage, Band, and Photography. The society has performed "Murata and Scar (Arawak vs Caribs)" and "The Chafing". They also participated in the KCCU National Dance Festival. In 2017, they presented the dramatic production "My Father's Child". The SVGCC Performing Arts Society actively recruits new members.
