Saint Vincent and the Grenadines CXC CAPE Physical Education and Sport

The Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) Physical Education and Sport syllabus is offered at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC). The program is designed to provide in-depth knowledge and skills for students pursuing further studies or entering the workforce.

Entry Requirements: Students must meet specific entry requirements for the CAPE program at SVGCC, including a minimum of five CSEC (CXC) General Proficiency passes (Grades I, II, or III) or their equivalent, including English A (Language). For Physical Education and Sport, students need a Grade I, II, or III in CSEC Physical Education and Sport or an equivalent GCE qualification. Alternatively, a Grade I, II, or III in Integrated Science (CSEC) or its GCE equivalent is acceptable.

Syllabus Structure: The CAPE Physical Education and Sport syllabus comprises a Compulsory Core and two Options. The Compulsory Core is divided into two Units.

Recent News and Events:

  • September 2024: SVGCC recorded 100 percent passes in at least one of the two CAPE units for 16 out of 23 subjects offered.
  • November 2023: SVGCC congratulated students on their CAPE results, highlighting achievements in Physical Education and Sport Unit 2.
  • December 2022: Searchlight highlighted the SVGCC Sports Programme's role in the overall development of sports in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
  • October 2017: SVGCC's Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies (DASGS) offered CAPE Physical Education and Sport Unit 1 evening classes.
  • September 2015: The Physical Education and Sports program officially commenced at SVGCC.
