Samoa Year 2 Curriculum - English

The curriculum recognizes the importance of both Samoan and English, with English being taught as a second language. In Year 2, students learn to name objects in the house. The curriculum aims to enhance English language learning through new approaches and measures. A policy framework suggests that for Year 2, 80% of the units should be taught and assessed in Samoan, while 20% should be in English. Maintaining the Samoan language is seen as beneficial for learning English. There are resources available for teaching about Samoa, suitable for Years 0-2.
