San Marino Scuola Secondaria Superiore - Liceo Economico Aziendale: Italian

The Liceo Economico Aziendale is a vocational program within the San Marino Scuola Secondaria Superiore. Established in 1999 and launched in the 2000-2001 academic year, it offers a diploma equivalent to the Italian Ragioniere and Perito Commerciale qualifications, recognized in Italy based on a bilateral agreement.

Curriculum

The curriculum blends technical and traditional high school education, emphasizing mathematics and foreign languages. It aims to:

  • Equip students with analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Prepare students for higher education and the workforce.
  • Develop conceptual frameworks for analyzing legal and economic models in national and international contexts.
  • Foster responsible economic and social citizenship.

Biennio (Years 1-2): The first two years share similarities with other high school programs, providing a broad foundation. Activities include legal workshops at the Civil and Criminal Court, legislative simulations at the Palazzo Pubblico, and visits to local businesses.

Triennio (Years 3-5): The curriculum becomes more specialized, focusing on business economics, civil/commercial/public law, political economics, finance, history, and philosophy, with a comparative approach to Italian and Sammarinese regulations. English language skills are enhanced through a study abroad program in Year 4 and opportunities for English language certifications (PET, First).

Internship Program (Stage)

The school emphasizes work experience through internships (stage). These internships allow students to apply their knowledge, assess their preparedness, and explore career options.

  • Year 3: Internships are conducted in public administration offices.
  • Year 4: Internships take place in private Sammarinese companies.
  • Year 5: Internships are with lawyers and accountants.

Additional Activities

The Liceo Economico Aziendale engages students in various activities:

  • Conferences, conventions, seminars, and workshops: These events facilitate interaction with political, legal, social, and economic institutions in San Marino, Italy, and Europe.
  • "Quotidiano in classe" project: This project, supported by the Fondazione San Marino Cassa di Risparmio, focuses on media literacy, journalistic writing, and publishing articles.
