San Marino Scuola Secondaria Superiore - Liceo Linguistico

The Liceo Linguistico at the Scuola Secondaria Superiore in San Marino was established in 1983. It focuses on language acquisition, literature, cultural studies, and the social and institutional structures of primarily Western European countries. The program aims to equip students with the necessary skills to navigate the international landscape of culture and communication.

Language Study:

Students study three foreign languages:

  • English
  • German
  • French

The program includes "Lettorato" activities, which involve one hour per week with a native-speaking instructor during the three-year period. Each year focuses on a different language. Students also have the opportunity to obtain language certifications such as the PET and FCE for English, ZD B1 for German, and DELF B1/B2 for French.

Study Trips Abroad:

The Liceo Linguistico organizes annual study trips abroad, each lasting one week. The destinations are chosen based on the language being studied that year:

  • First Year: English-speaking country
  • Second Year: French-speaking country
  • Third Year: German-speaking country
  • Fourth Year: English-speaking country
  • Fifth Year: French or German-speaking country (decided by teachers)

During these trips, students participate in intensive language courses and live with host families, providing an immersive cultural experience.
