Saudi Arabia Grade 2 Curriculum - Arabic

Arabic Language

Quranic Phonics 2: This course focuses on recognizing, naming, and sounding Arabic letters. Students learn to form and read words, divide and read words in syllables, identify short vowels, sukoon*, and heavy letters. Memorization of Quranic Arabic words is also included.

  • Quran Memorization: Students memorize five surahs: Al-Asr, At-Takathur, Al-Qari'ah, Al-Adiyat, and Az-Zalzal. The course also emphasizes the significance of the Quran and its practical application in daily life.

Islamic Studies

This course covers the core principles of Islam (Usool ad Deen): Tawhid (Oneness of God), Adalah (Justice of God), Nabuwwah (Prophethood), Imamah (Leadership), and Qiyamah (Day of Judgement). Students learn about the 99 names of God (Asmaul Husna), Surah Fatiha, Surah Tawheed, the actions of Wudu (ablution), Adhan (call to prayer), Iqamah (second call to prayer), Salah (prayer), Qiblah (direction of prayer), Sawm (fasting), Hajj (pilgrimage), and basic Islamic manners and ethics. Stories of prophets and important Islamic figures are also included.
