At the end of Primary 3, the learner is able to:
Technology Process
- Investigate aspects of technology such as materials and techniques.
- Generate design ideas and share with others.
- Plan the order of his/her work considering the tools, equipment, materials, components, and techniques as part of the production stage.
- Improve and explain his/her design.
Information and Communication
- Analyze information gathered.
- Use appropriate techniques to combine information from different sources such as books, videos, family members.
- Record information for their design using methods that are easy to manage (words, sketches, diagrams).
Skills
- Use tools and equipment with some accuracy to cut, shape, and assemble materials.
- Use equipment, tools, and materials safely and with care.
- Carry out regular maintenance on equipment.
Enterprise
- Demonstrate ways of overcoming barriers and constraints that prevent success when devising creative solutions to technology challenges.
- Develop strategies for making good use of resources and initiate a plan of action.
- Use appropriate ways to organize personal work.
- Identify functions and labels in products.
Society and Environment
- Describe people's views about technology.
- Explain that some materials can have limited availability, can be reused, and recycled.
- Explain how products, environments, and services have been designed to best meet people's current and future needs in the local community.
- Describe how designers and technologists contribute to meeting needs.
