Seychelles Primary 1 Curriculum - French
The Seychelles primary education system spans six years, with French introduced as a subject later on. While Creole is the primary language of instruction from ages 6 to 10, English is gradually incorporated, and French is introduced as a foreign language. Primary education in Seychelles is compulsory and free in public schools. The Ministry of Education in Seychelles provides teacher resources for various subjects, including French, for primary levels. A mobility project launched in February 2024 aimed to enhance the expertise of French teachers in Seychelles' state primary schools. The Seychelles National Curriculum Framework guides the structure and implementation of the curriculum, including the language policy which supports the trilingual approach of Creole, English, and French. |
