Primary 6 Science Learning Objectives
By the end of Primary 6, learners are expected to achieve the following:
Knowledge:
- Demonstrate understanding of scientific and technological applications relevant to their area of study. This includes topics such as echoes, magnets, compasses, simple electrical circuits, and the water cycle.
Observing:
- Make informed decisions about observations made during experiments, recognizing cause-and-effect relationships.
Communicating:
- Report and present findings from inquiries and activities effectively.
- Draw conclusions and present them both orally and in written form, including displays.
- Utilize a wide range of reading materials independently.
Measuring:
- Select appropriate units for measurement and utilize a range of scientific equipment with increasing accuracy and precision.
Predicting:
- Use test results and data patterns to make predictions and design further comparative tests.
Classifying:
- Use and develop keys and other information records to identify, classify, and describe living things and materials.
- Recognize common behaviors in organisms.
Experimenting:
- Plan different types of scientific inquiries and activities to answer questions.
- Collect and use data to make predictions and draw conclusions.
