Seychelles Secondary 1 Curriculum - Information Technology

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has been integrated into the Seychelles' education system. ICT was introduced as a learning subject in secondary schools in 2006. A new digital skills component will be included in the school curriculum starting in 2025.

The Ministry of Education aims to provide quality education and training, reflecting universal and national values. They have an ICT in Education Plan (2011-2015) to provide ICT resources to schools for teaching and learning. The Ministry also promotes the use of Open Educational Resources and ICT for teaching and learning. Student resources for various subjects, including ICT Applications and the Impact of emerging technologies, are available on the Ministry of Education website.

The Seychelles Institute of Technology (SIT) offers post-secondary technical and vocational education and training. A new Centre for Excellence in Technology for secondary students opened in January 2024.
