SG Code Campus teaches kids and teenagers to solve problems in a digital world through coding. We focus on imparting core concepts from computer science, a discipline that has applications across many fields. On campus, we engineer and customise open source coding education platforms like Scratch and App Inventor to teach younger students (ages 7-10) to apply computing concepts in diverse areas including security, app development and game design through block-based programming. Older students (ages 11-18) tackle these areas directly by solving problems using a text-based programming language, Python.
By focusing on key skills such as how to isolate the core of a problem; decompose complex ideas; recognise patterns; and devise reusable solutions, we arm our graduates with a strong foundation in computational thinking, which they can bring with them to whichever field they choose to specialise in.
