The applied subjects within the Sciences & Technologies stream are designed to allow students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world situations. They include:

  • Environmental Science: This subject focuses on the application of scientific principles to understand and address environmental challenges. It covers topics such as ecosystem dynamics, pollution, conservation, and sustainable resource management.
  • Health Science: This subject explores the application of scientific knowledge to human health and well-being. It covers areas such as disease prevention, health promotion, nutrition, and healthcare systems.
  • Food Security: This subject examines the factors that influence food production, access, and utilization. It covers topics such as agriculture, nutrition, food processing, and sustainable food systems.
  • Engineering Science: This subject applies scientific and mathematical principles to design and build solutions to practical problems. It covers areas such as mechanics, electronics, and design processes.
  • Physical Health Education: This subject focuses on the application of scientific principles to physical activity, fitness, and health. It covers topics such as exercise physiology, sports nutrition, and injury prevention.
  • Genetics & Bio-Engineering: This subject explores the principles of genetics and their application to biotechnology and genetic engineering. It covers topics such as DNA manipulation, gene expression, and ethical considerations.
