H2 Knowledge and Inquiry

Knowledge and Inquiry (KI) is an elective H2 subject offered at some Junior Colleges (JCs) in Singapore. It focuses on the nature of knowledge and its construction across various areas of knowledge (AOKs), including the sciences, social sciences, mathematics, and aesthetics. Students critically evaluate what constitutes knowledge within different disciplines. KI delves deeper into epistemology and critical thinking than General Paper (GP) and is often considered a more advanced option. It can be taken in lieu of H1 GP as a fourth H2 subject. Students taking KI usually offer four H2 content subjects throughout the two years of JC. However, as of March 2023, KI can no longer replace GP.
