Singapore Primary 4 Tamil Language Curriculum

The Ministry of Education (MOE) in Singapore emphasizes the development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in the Tamil language curriculum. Students are introduced to subject-based learning, which includes languages, mathematics, science, art, music, and social studies.

While the specific details of the G1 syllabus are not readily available, the overall Tamil curriculum aims to nurture students' love for the language and enhance their proficiency in all four language skills. Various teaching strategies are employed to create an immersive and meaningful learning environment. Some schools offer customized programs like the Mother Tongue Support Programme (MTSP) to further support students in Primary 3 and Primary 4. From 2024, students will take subjects at three subject levels: G1, G2, G3 (G stands for General), based on their aptitude for and interest in the subjects.
