Slovak Primary School Curriculum

The Slovak education system mandates 10 years of compulsory school attendance. Primary school consists of two levels: grades 1-4 (ISCED 1) and grades 5-9 (ISCED 2).

Slovak Language and Literature

Slovak Language and Literature is a core subject in Slovak primary schools. In schools where Slovak is the primary language of instruction, it is taught alongside other subjects like mathematics, science, and foreign languages. In schools with a minority language of instruction, students learn both Slovak Language and Literature and their national minority language and literature.
