Slovakia 5th Grade Curriculum - Ethics or Religious Education
Slovakia's primary education system mandates that students take either Religious Education or Ethics. Students or their parents choose which course to follow. Religious Education is confessional. While schools have some flexibility in developing their religious education curricula, they must align with the Ministry of Education's National Educational Program. Ethics education serves as the alternative for students who do not attend religious education classes. Both subjects fall under the "Human being and values" domain. The National Institute for Education plays a role in curriculum development and implementation. There is a two-level education model in Slovakia, consisting of state and school levels. |
