Slovakia 7th Grade Curriculum - Musical Education

The 7th Grade Music Curriculum in Slovakia aims to develop students' musical abilities through various activities, including singing, playing instruments, music theory, listening and ear training, music and movement, perception, and music and drama. Music textbooks are used in classrooms across Slovakia, covering grades 1st through 7th. One such textbook, Hudobná výchova 7 (Music Education 7), focuses on building musical skills through original musical activities and gradually introduces students to music theory and history. The textbook incorporates QR codes linking to recordings, fostering a positive relationship with music and art. A songbook at the end of the textbook features songs related to the Romantic and Impressionist periods, covering themes of love, emotions, betrayal, passion, joy, and sadness. The textbook is aligned with the updated State Educational Program (iŠVP).
