Slovakia: Physical Education (7th Grade)

Physical Education in Slovakia is part of the "Health and Movement" training area within the State Educational Programme (ISCED 2). Students in ISCED 2 (which includes 7th grade) typically have two mandatory physical education classes per week. In addition to regular PE classes, Slovak schools also offer excursions, life and health protection courses, and additional physical activity courses like swimming instruction. Physical education is mandatory from elementary school through the first level of university. The Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic oversees the development and support of sport and physical education within the country.
