Slovakia Fifth Grade Civics Curriculum

Civics education in Slovakia is integrated into the broader educational framework, emphasizing social and civic competences throughout compulsory schooling (grades 1-9). Fifth grade falls within the second stage of primary school (grades 5-9), where civics is a compulsory subject alongside other core subjects like Slovak language and literature, history, geography, mathematics, science, and foreign languages.

While the precise learning objectives for fifth grade civics remain elusive, the curriculum aims to develop students' understanding of social, political, and legal aspects of everyday life, including rights and obligations of citizens.
