Slovenia Physical Education Curriculum (4th Grade)

Physical education is a compulsory subject in Slovenian primary schools. Students in 4th grade, as part of the first six years of primary school, receive 105 hours of physical education annually, which translates to three 45-minute lessons per week. In addition to regular PE classes, schools may offer extracurricular physical activity programs. One such program is "Healthy Lifestyle," in which participating schools provide two additional hours of physical activity per week.

While the specific curriculum for 4th grade PE is not readily available, general information about physical education in Slovenia can be found. All primary and most secondary schools in Slovenia have at least one fully equipped sports hall. The national SLOfit program monitors the physical and motor development of children and youth. Additionally, research has been conducted on the competencies of Slovenian PE teachers and the implementation of the gymnastics curriculum.
