Slovenia 5th Grade Curriculum - Arts
The Slovenian 5th grade art curriculum emphasizes creative expression and the development of artistic skills. Visual arts and music are compulsory subjects. The curriculum encourages cross-curricular links between the arts and other subjects. Students learn to work with various tools, processes, and media, making choices that enhance the communication of their ideas. They develop aesthetic perception and artistic conceivability, learning about individual art genres. Art education in Slovenia may focus primarily on art-making activities.
One of the commonly used textbooks is "Likovno izražanje 5" (Visual Expression 5). This textbook introduces students to new knowledge about artistic problems and deepens their understanding of artistic concepts, enabling them to express themselves better both verbally and visually.
The Slovenian education system is regulated by the National Education Institute of the Republic of Slovenia (ZRSŠ). The curriculum is determined at the national level. Teachers choose their teaching methods. There has been a curricular reform in art education. |
