Slovenia Osnovna šola Geography Curriculum
Geography education in Slovenia begins in the sixth grade (age 12) and continues until the end of primary school (ninth grade). The curriculum covers general geography in the first year, followed by world geography, geography of Europe, and a portion of Slovenian geography in the second and third years. The nine-year primary school program includes geography as a compulsory subject. Fieldwork is also a component of the geography curriculum. There has been research conducted on the desired syllabus content by Slovenian geography teachers, with a focus on modernization. A study on sustainability learning tasks within geography education has also been conducted. |
