Music Education in Slovenia

Music education in Slovenia is a comprehensive system catering to students of all ages and skill levels. It is integrated into the core curriculum of primary schools and available as an elective in secondary schools. A parallel system of specialized music schools provides more intensive training for aspiring musicians.

Primary School Music Education:

In primary schools, music is a compulsory subject. Students are exposed to various musical activities, including singing, dancing, and learning about music history. The curriculum emphasizes active learning and creative expression.

Secondary School Music Education:

Some students expressed a passion for music and its role in their lives, while others found the demands of music school challenging. They also discussed the importance of motivation, practice, and finding joy in playing music.
