Slovenia Matura Exam Subjects - Physics

The Matura exam is the standardized secondary school leaving exam in Slovenia, serving as a prerequisite for higher education. It consists of five subjects: three compulsory (Mother Tongue, Mathematics, and a Foreign Language) and two electives. Physics is one of the elective subjects students can choose. The Matura exam is administered in two series: spring (May-June) and autumn (August-September). Year 4 students also take a mock exam in March.

The Physics Matura exam includes a written component that accounts for 80% of the final mark. It also includes an experimental work component. The exam is graded on a five-point scale (1-5), with 1 being a failing grade. To pass the Matura, students must achieve a positive grade (2-5) in all five subjects. Bonus points are awarded for higher-level achievements in certain subjects, contributing to the final points score used for university admissions.
