South Africa Visual Arts Grades 10-12

This course aims to equip learners with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary for self-expression and meaningful engagement with the world through visual arts. It focuses on developing practical and aesthetic decision-making skills, fostering creative imagination, and promoting visual literacy through the study of visual culture. The curriculum emphasizes the integration of practical and theoretical aspects, with a 3:1 ratio of practical to theory teaching contact time. Assessment weighting reflects this emphasis, with a 70%:30% split between practical and theoretical components.
