South Africa Grade 2 Life Skills Syllabus

The South Africa Grade 2 Life Skills curriculum is based on the Curriculum Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) and covers four main areas:

  • Beginning Knowledge and Personal and Social Well-being
  • Creative Arts
  • Physical Education

The CAPS document provides a detailed framework for teaching Life Skills, outlining the aims, content, and assessment guidelines for each grade.

Term 1

Themes covered in Term 1 include:

  • What we need to live (healthy food, water, clean air)
  • Myself and others
  • Everyone is special
  • Healthy living (perishable and non-perishable products, things that can harm us, good habits)
  • Religious holidays
