This syllabus covers the following units:
Unit 1: Periodic Motion

- Topic 2: Simple Harmonic Motion: This topic explores simple harmonic motion, mass-spring systems, energy changes in simple harmonic motion, and damped and forced oscillations.
Unit 2: Newton's Law of Gravitation
- Topic 3: Newton's Law of Gravitation: This topic covers Newton's Law of Gravitation, orbits of planets and satellites, gravitational field, gravitational potential energy, Kepler's laws, escape velocity, and geostationary orbits.
Unit 3: Wave Reflection, Refraction, Interaction, Interference, and Diffraction
- Topic 4: Wave Reflection, Refraction, Interaction, Interference, and Diffraction: This topic covers wave properties (reflection, refraction, diffraction, interference), the ripple tank and wavefronts, the principle of superposition, resonance, and beats.
Unit 4: Electric Fields and Capacitance
- Topic 5: Electric Fields and Capacitance: This topic covers electric fields, electric potential, electric flux, capacitors, capacitance, charging and discharging capacitors, combinations of capacitors, discharging action at points, and applications of electrostatics.
Unit 5: Magnetic Field and Electromagnetic Induction
- Topic 6: Magnetic Effect of an Electric Current: This topic covers magnetic fields due to current-carrying conductors and solenoids, charged particles in magnetic fields, Biot-Savart's law, force on a current-carrying conductor, and applications of the motor effect.
- Topic 7: Electromagnetic Induction: This topic explores electromagnetic induction, factors affecting induced EMF, laws of electromagnetic induction (Faraday's and Lenz's laws), transformers, and other applications of electromagnetic induction.
- Topic 8: Electric Power Transmission and Household Installation: This topic covers electric power transmission, household electrical installation, household wiring, dangers of electricity, and electrical safety.
Unit 6: Cathode Ray Tube
- Topic 9: Cathode Ray Tube: This topic covers the production and properties of cathode rays, the cathode ray oscilloscope (CRO), and its uses.
Unit 7: Radioactivity and Nuclear Energy
- Topic 10: Radioactivity and Nuclear Energy: This topic explores radioactive decay, half-life, types of nuclear radiation, radiation detectors, equations for radioactive decay, natural and artificial radioactivity, nuclear fission and fusion, and applications of radioactivity.
