Sri Lanka GCE Ordinary Level Religion (Hinduism)

The Sri Lanka GCE Ordinary Level examination includes Religion (Hinduism, also known as Sivaneri) as a mandatory subject. Students typically take this exam after grade 11. The examination assesses students' understanding of Hindu beliefs, practices, scriptures, ethics, values, and reformers. Past papers for the Sivaneri (Hinduism) portion of the GCE Ordinary Level exam are available from various sources, often categorized by year and language (Sinhala, Tamil, and English). These past papers can be valuable resources for students preparing for the exam.

While the Cambridge O Level Hinduism (2055) syllabus covers similar topics, it is distinct from the Sri Lankan syllabus. The Cambridge syllabus encourages a critical approach to the study of Hinduism and covers aspects of Hindu belief, worship, scripture, ethics, values, and reformers. Resources for the Cambridge O Level Hinduism syllabus, including past papers and study guides, are available online.

The Sri Lankan Sivaneri (Hinduism) syllabus is available for download in Sinhala, Tamil, and English mediums. Teacher's guides and instructional manuals are also available to support educators in teaching the subject.
