Economics
The Advanced Level Economics syllabus covers fundamental economic ideas, including the price system, government intervention, international trade and exchange rates, employment and inflation measurement, and the causes and consequences of inflation. It also includes fiscal policy, encompassing definitions, objectives, government revenue, tax revenue, objectives of imposing taxes, principles of taxation, and tax classification. A competency-based curriculum has been introduced, considering global trends and contemporary changes in economics. The 2020 A/L examination marking scheme is available. as well as the 2019 marking scheme. Economics is offered within the Commerce stream. The Grade 12 syllabus can be downloaded.
Information Technology (IT)
The Advanced Level ICT syllabus covers core theoretical and practical concepts of ICT. It aims to strengthen students' ICT skills and prepare them for further studies or applying ICT in daily work. A detailed syllabus breakdown is available. The Grade 12 General Information Technology syllabus focuses on enabling students to select appropriate ICT courses, identify relevant computer applications, and use ICT for daily activities. ICT is offered in the Technology stream, and under the recent syllabus, candidates can choose between Chemistry and ICT. The Cambridge International AS & A Level Information Technology syllabus (2022-2024) is also available. SLIATE offers a Higher National Diploma in Information Technology (HNDIT).
