Sudan Basic Education (8th Grade) Curriculum - Arabic

The Sudanese basic education system consists of eight years of primary education, with Arabic being the language of instruction. Students take a national basic education examination at the end of 8th grade. While details about the 8th-grade Arabic curriculum specifically are unavailable, Arabic language is taught from 1st grade onwards. The Ministry of Education oversees the national curriculum, and students are tested in Arabic language among other subjects in the 8th-grade exams. In 2024, the government introduced Arabic language for primary 5 to 8 learners. Textbooks for all subjects from grades 1 to 8, including Arabic, have been developed. There are challenges with different levels of Arabic language among students. The Learning Passport platform provides access to Sudan's national school curriculum, including Arabic, from grades 1 to 8.
