Building and Construction Programme (Bygg- och anläggningsprogrammet)
This vocational program within the Swedish upper secondary school system focuses on building, construction, and related fields. It prepares students for direct entry into the workforce after graduation or further education. The program offers a blend of theoretical and practical training, including apprenticeships (APL) at construction sites. Beginning in autumn 2023, the program also provides the basic eligibility requirements for higher education.
Specializations
The Building and Construction Programme offers four main specializations:
- House Building (Husbyggnad): This specialization focuses on the construction, renovation, and remodeling of residential and commercial buildings, as well as bridges and other structures. Students gain practical skills in various aspects of house building, from planning to completion.
- Ground and Civil Engineering (Mark och anläggning): This specialization covers groundworks for roads, railways, foundations, pipelines, and green spaces.
- Painting (Måleri): Students in this specialization develop skills in various painting techniques and surface treatments.
- Construction Sheet Metal Work (Byggnadsplåtslageri): This specialization focuses on the installation and maintenance of sheet metal roofing, cladding, and other building components.
