Health and Social Care Program (Vård- och omsorgsprogrammet): Year 3
The Health and Social Care Program prepares students for a variety of roles within healthcare, social care, elderly care, and disability support. Year 3 focuses on deepening practical skills and theoretical knowledge, culminating in a final project that demonstrates the student's readiness for professional work.
Core Courses and Specializations:
Year 3 includes mandatory courses such as Swedish 3 or Swedish as a Second Language 1, along with specialized courses like Child and Youth Health and Pedagogy in Healthcare. Students can further specialize their studies by choosing from a range of elective courses, such as those focusing on mental training or healthcare pedagogy.
Internship (APL):
A significant component of Year 3 is the mandatory internship (APL), providing students with 15 weeks of practical experience in various healthcare settings. These internships allow students to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world environments, gaining valuable experience and building professional networks. Placements can include hospitals, psychiatric care, or pediatric care, depending on the student's chosen specialization.
Final Project (Gymnasiearbete):
The final project (Gymnasiearbete) is a capstone experience where students demonstrate their acquired competencies within their chosen field. This project allows students to showcase their ability to perform common tasks required for entry-level positions in their chosen profession. |
