Switzerland Secondary II (Sekundarstufe II) Syllabus - Baccalaureate Main Specialism Subject

The Swiss Baccalaureate (Matura) curriculum in Sekundarstufe II (Secondary II) prepares students for tertiary education. It includes core subjects, a main specialism subject, a secondary specialism subject, and a baccalaureate essay.

Main Specialism Subjects

The main specialism subject allows students to focus on a specific area of interest. While the exact subjects offered can vary between cantons and schools, examples of main specialism subjects include:

Assessment

Assessment for the Swiss Maturité includes written and oral exams in each subject, as well as a dissertation.
