Tanzania Ordinary Secondary Education Form III-IV Curriculum - Fine Arts
This curriculum is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to appreciate and create fine art using traditional and modern techniques. It also aims to develop students' ICT skills for marketing their artwork and fostering creativity for self-employment. Form III
1.0 Demonstrate Mastery of Concepts, Theories, and Principles of Fine Art
- 1.1 Perspective Composition: Students learn the basic tenets of perspective composition, exploring how to create an illusion of depth and distance in their artwork. This involves analyzing sample works and applying these principles in their own drawings and paintings.
- 1.2 Theories of Art: Students delve into art theories, focusing on imitationalism and emotionalism. They explore the meaning, purpose, and application of these theories through discussions and research.
2.0 Create Simple Works of Fine Art
- 2.1 Perspective Drawings and Paintings: Students create perspective drawings and paintings, applying the principles learned earlier. They experiment with various tools and materials to achieve realistic depictions of three-dimensional space.
- 2.2 Functional and Decorative Relief Prints: Students design and create functional and decorative relief prints, exploring techniques and materials involved in this printmaking process.
- 2.3 Contemporary Art using Collage: Students explore contemporary art creation by using the collage style in both drawings and paintings. This involves experimenting with different materials and compositions.
- 2.4 Realistic Two-Dimensional Artwork: Students develop skills in creating realistic two-dimensional drawings and paintings that meet specific client needs. This involves analyzing sample pictures and applying appropriate techniques.
