Tanzania Form 2 Civics

This course introduces students to key civics concepts, focusing on life skills, government structure, democracy, and the constitution. It aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills to be active and responsible citizens. The official syllabus can be found here:

1. Promotion of Life Skills

This topic covers social problem-solving techniques and essential life skills for personal and societal well-being. These skills include negotiation, relationship building, self-awareness, and decision-making. Students learn how to apply these skills in real-life situations.

2. Government of Tanzania

This section explores the structure and functions of the Tanzanian government. It covers the different types of government, including the presidential system, and the roles of various branches. Students also learn about local government structures and their importance.

3. Democracy

This topic examines the principles and types of democracy, including multiparty democracy and democratic elections. Students learn about the implementation of democratic principles in Tanzania and the importance of citizen participation in a democratic society.

4. The Constitution

This section focuses on the Constitution of Tanzania, its main provisions, and its role in governing the country. Students learn about the structure of the constitution and its importance in upholding the rights and responsibilities of citizens.
