Tanzania Standard 4 Curriculum - Mathematics
- Number Concepts and Operations
- Whole Numbers: Students will recognize the value of digits in multi-digit whole numbers, read and write multi-digit whole numbers, compare whole numbers using symbols (=, <, >), and identify sequences in whole numbers. They will also perform multiplication and division of whole numbers.
- Roman Numerals: Students will recognize Roman numerals up to M (1000).
- Fractions: Students will compare fractions using symbols (=, <, >), perform multiplication and division of fractions, and explain the concept of decimals. They will also perform addition and subtraction of fractions with different denominators and mixed fractions.
- Measurements
- Length, Mass, and Volume: Students will convert between various units of length (millimeters to kilometers), mass (milligrams to tonnes), and volume (milliliters to liters). They will also perform addition and subtraction of measurements for length, mass, and volume.
- Time: Students will convert between units of time (seconds to hours), and perform addition and subtraction of time.
- Geometry
- Shapes: Students will calculate the perimeters and areas of plane figures (rectangle, square, and triangle).
- Financial Mathematics
- Tanzanian Currency: Students will perform multiplication and division of Tanzanian currency.
- Sale and Purchase: Students will solve problems involving sale and purchase using Tanzanian currency.
