Healthcare and Environment

  • Parts of the Human Body: Students learn to identify and describe the functions of the external parts of the human body.
  • Protecting Against Diseases: Students learn about various ways to keep water and food safe and clean, proper procedures for washing utensils, using the toilet, washing and ironing clothes, and protecting against infectious diseases (HIV/AIDS, cholera, diarrhea, TB).
  • Living Things in the Environment: Students learn to identify and describe the benefits of domestic and wild animals, the effects of harmful animals and insects, and the benefits of plants.
  • Cleaning and Caring for the Environment: Students learn to use various tools for cleaning the environment, describe common types of risky behavior and their prevention, and describe and use the procedures for planting seeds and trees.
  • First Aid: Students learn about different ways of giving first aid, including differentiating procedures for cuts and electric shocks, using role play to demonstrate first aid for cuts, and demonstrating procedures for providing first aid for electric shock victims.

Science and Technology (Based on the 2019 syllabus for Standard III-VII, which may provide insights into the foundational concepts for Standard II)

  • Main Competencies: The Science and Technology syllabus emphasizes developing various competencies, including observation, investigation, experimentation, and problem-solving.
