Thailand Matthayom 3 Curriculum - Technology

The Technology curriculum for Matthayom 3 (equivalent to Grade 9) in Thailand is derived from the Basic Education Core Curriculum B.E. 2551 (A.D. 2008). It focuses on Occupations and Technology, aiming for the holistic development of learners, equipping them with essential knowledge and skills for various occupations. The curriculum emphasizes practical application, creative thinking, and responsible use of technology. It covers four main strands:

• Life and Family (O1.1): This strand emphasizes understanding the concept of work and applying it to daily life. Students learn practical work processes, management, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. The curriculum promotes diligence, morality, and awareness of resource conservation and environmental protection. Students are encouraged to apply these principles in their lives and within their families.
• Design and Technology (O2.1): This strand focuses on understanding technology and technological processes. Students learn to design and create objects, utensils, or methodologies through creative technological processes. They are encouraged to select and utilize technologies that benefit their lives, society, and the environment, while also participating in sustainable technological management.
• Information and Communication Technology (ICT) (O3.1): This strand centers on understanding, appreciating, and ethically using information and communication technologies. Students develop skills in searching for data, communication, problem-solving, and applying these skills to their work and livelihoods.
• Occupations (O4.1): This strand aims to provide students with essential occupational skills and experiences. It fosters a proper perception of future careers, encourages the application of technology for occupational development, and instills morality and a positive attitude towards work. Students learn to evaluate livelihood alternatives based on their knowledge, aptitudes, and interests.
