Togo Cours Préparatoire 1ère année (CP1) Subjects - History

The Togolese education system is based on the French system. Primary education in Togo is compulsory for six years, starting at age 6. The primary cycle is divided into three two-year levels: Cours Préparatoire (CP1 and CP2), Cours Elémentaire (CE1 and CE2), and Cours Moyen (CM1 and CM2). CP1 is the first year of primary school.

While the specific History curriculum for CP1 could not be found, it is known that History is a subject taught in Togolese primary schools. Other subjects in the primary curriculum include French, mathematics, geography, civic education, science, physical education, and languages.

Textbooks exist for CP1, particularly for French and mathematics. The availability of history textbooks specifically for CP1 is unclear. There is a noted scarcity of textbooks in Togolese primary schools, and teachers often resort to copying drawings and lessons onto the blackboard for students to transcribe.
