Togo Primary 6 Curriculum - French

Primary education in Togo follows the French system and spans six years. It is free and theoretically compulsory. French is the official language of instruction throughout the Togolese education system. Students progress through cycles, similar to the French model, culminating in the Certificat d'Etudes du Premier Degré (CEPD) upon completion of primary school. This certificate allows them to transition to lower secondary education.

The Togolese education system has undergone improvements in recent decades, with efforts focused on increasing enrollment and enhancing the quality of education. A revised curriculum for grades 4 to 6 in French and mathematics has been implemented for primary teachers. While the specific details of the Primary 6 French curriculum are not readily available, it likely emphasizes fundamental skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic, similar to the French primary curriculum. In addition to these core subjects, students are also exposed to other areas such as art, physical education, and potentially a foreign language.
